Level Four Hints

Moving the Blocks

You can begin this activity by clicking on the Pyramid site. There are three elements to this level. One 3D assembly puzzle, a simulation game, and clues about the Pharaoh’s assassination plot.

1. First, you need to learn how to build a sled so that the workers can drag the stone blocks up the ramp, and so that they will know how to repair a sled if it breaks along the way.

To do so, you must:

Click on the material in the background, next to the Foreman.
Click on one of the two crossbars that will make the base of the sled.
Move the crossbar and place it in one of the slots of the rear sled runner.
Now place the second crossbar in the 2nd slot of the rear runner.
Click on the runner in the foreground and attach it to the rest of the sled.
Finally, you need to place the block of stone onto the sled.

2. Next, you must work out the details of dragging the stones into position. This involves figuring out how to make footholds on the ramp, how to make the ramp slippery, how to assign and manage the workers, how to repair broken sleds, and how to get more water when your supply runs out.

First, click on the wooden planks in the foreground and hand them to the workers so that they can set footholds up the ramp. You will need to give planks to enough workers to evenly cover the entire ramp.
Now, as a stone block is pulled in front of the workers and left there, click on 5 workers to assign them to drag the stone up the ramp.
Click on the Foreman’s drum to get the workers to begin dragging the block.
As one team of workers is dragging a block up the ramp and another team is dragging in a new block, you must click on the buckets of water in the foreground and give them to the workers to help make the ramp slippery. Try to give water to workers between each team that you assign. It is important to keep a steady pace, so the ramp will remain lubricated.
From time to time, a sled may break. You should click on the wooden planks and give one to a worker so that he may carry it up the ramp and repair the broken sled.
If you click on a worker without handing him an item, he will walk up the ramp and join the first sled with less than 8 workers. Too many workers on a sled causes arguments. Click on a worker pulling the sled to release him from it. If there are other sleds up ahead on the ramp, the idle workers will walk up and join the next sled. You must continue to scroll up the ramp and click on the extra workers until all of the sleds have no more than 5 workers.

3. Your supply of water will eventually run out. You must find a way to get more water to keep the work fast and steady. Various hints about the emerging plot to assassinate the Pharaoh make their first appearance at this point. There is a sacred lake nearby, but to get water from the nearby lake, you must first find Dendara, the Pharaoh’s sister, by bartering at the Kiosks.

To do so, you must:

Click on the Isis symbol on the side of the Pyramid near the Foreman to leave the site.
Once in Virtual Flight, scroll to the left to reach the kiosks down by the captains boat.
Click on the tents near the water.
Click on the tents again to move in closer.
Scroll right to the Papyrus Lady in the third tent and click on her.
Give her a tusk carving as a secret sign, and she will give Dendara a message to meet you at the sacred lake.
If you do not have a tusk carving, exit the Papyrus lady’s tent and scroll to the far right to find the Tusk Carver. Trade some grain for a tusk carving and then return to the Papyrus Lady.
Once you have given the tusk carving to the Papyrus Lady, exit out of the kiosks to the docks. Scroll to the right and find the Isis symbol on the side of the boat. Click on the Isis symbol to return to return to the work site.
At the work site, scroll to the far right to the edge of the sacred lake.
Click on the edge of the lake to move in closer.
After Dendara’s speech, click on the wooden plank at the right end of the lake to lift it. Now the water will drain out of the lake to the work site.
After Venomar’s speech, click on the down arrows to back out to the main screen.

2. (Cont.) Scroll left to the work site and resume work by following the next three steps:

Keep handing water to the workers, and continue to assign 5 workers to each block until enough blocks have been sent up the ramp. (a total of 9 blocks)
If a sled breaks, you need to click on the pile of wooden planks in the foreground and hand one to a worker. He will take it up the ramp and repair the sled.
If you do not keep on schedule the Foreman will ask you to leave the site and return later.

After you have completed the work, take the scroll from the Foreman and return it to the Hall of the Guardians.
