Making Papyrus

In this activity you can learn the process used by ancient Egyptians to make papyrus. Although this activity is not critical to finishing the game, the papyrus may be used for bartering purposes at other levels.

1.Click on the stone block on the right side of the counter to begin making papyrus.

2.Remove the cloth on the block in the center of the table, and place it on the side.

3. Click on one of the papyrus plants in the background, and place it on the block. Prepare the reed by following the steps below:

Click the tip of the knife on the plant and cut the top leaves off the reed.
Set down the knife.
Move the top leaves to the side. They are not used in the process.
Click the tip of the knife on the reed to split it.
Set the knife and the split reed aside.
Repeat with all papyrus plants. (Total 4 times)

4. Evenly place 4 strips of papyrus reed vertically on the block.

5. Next, evenly place the remaining 4 strips horizontally on the vertical strips.

6. Cover the reeds with the cloth.

7. Use the rock to pound the reeds flat by clicking on the four corners of the mat.

Once you have made a papyrus sheet that pleases the Papyrus Woman, you can take it from her and place it in your inventory. After having completed this activity, click on the blue arrow to back out to the main screen. You can now click on the Isis symbol nearby to return to Virtual Flight.
