Pyramid: Challenge of the Pharoah's Dream

Level One Hints

The Circular Wall

You can begin this activity by clicking on the Circular Wall in the landscape. There are two puzzles to solve in completing this task:

1. You must find the blind astronomer who is lost in a maze-like papyrus marsh, and is threatened by a hungry crocodile. This puzzle requires you to follow sound to find your way through the maze.

  • Scroll to the far right of the main screen to find the marsh.
  • Click on the marsh area to move closer.
  • After the animation sequence, look carefully at the stone tablet next to the astronomer’s assistant for clues. It is a map that reads from bottom to top. There are 6 intersections in the maze, the triangles indicate correct clearings, where a path through to the next intersection can be had:

    6. - ^ - - -
    5. - - ^ -
    4. - - ^ - - -
    3. - - ^ - -
    2. - ^ - -
    1. - - - ^ -

  • Click on the marsh reeds to enter the maze.
  • Click on the gaps where the reeds are thin to move deeper into the maze.
  • Follow the rising volume of the Astronomer’s voice and the crocodile’s growl to help you through the maze.
  • Click on the blue arrow at the bottom of the frame to go back one level if you hit a dead end.
  • Once you’ve found the Astronomer, use the blue arrow to back out to the main screen.

2. Next, you must help the Astronomer determine which direction is true north. This logic puzzle requires astronomical intuition.

  • Once you leave the marsh, scroll to the far.
  • Click on the Circular Wall to zoom in.
  • Click on the Astronomer to have him place his staff into the ground. After he has placed the staff, you will transition to the Night Sky.
  • Pick up one of the rocks on the left side of the wall.
  • Take the rock to the right side of the screen, and mark the Rising Point of one of the stars by placing the rock at that point on the wall.
  • Pick up the second rock from the far left side of the screen.
  • Place the second rock on the top left of the wall to mark the setting point of the same star.

After the Sunrise Animation, take the scroll from the Astronomer and place it in the inventory area next to the Scarab. Once you have completed the activity, click the blue arrow to back out to the main screen. Then click on the Isis symbol nearby to return to Virtual Flight.
